AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi visited quake-hit Sikkim to meet victims and to take stock of rescue and relief efforts. Mr Gandhi arrived at Gangtok at around 10:30 am. Party sources said that Rahul Gandhi’s visit is to meet workers and officials to get a first-hand account of the extent of damage in Sunday's earthquake in which more than 80 people have been killed. Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Meghalaya too, as part of his efforts to boost Youth Congress membership in the state.
