Rahul talks about ‘Nehru’s Phulpur’ at Uttar Pradesh poll rally

In his emotive and powerful addressing to the people gathered at the Phulpur poll rally, the AICC general secretary Rahul Gandhi talked about “Nehru’s Phulpur”, the poor of the state and what a leader should do.

The constituency of Phulpur is the one his great grandfather Jawaharlal Nehru used to fight elections from. The era of the Indian National Congress bastion of the state died gradually after the first Prime Minister of India expired.

“This Phulpur is Nehruji’s workplace. . . And Mr. Nehru showed Uttar Pradesh the path – showed the path of development, the path of Progress. There was a time when Uttar Pradesh showed the path to the whole of India. Today India is fast moving ahead, Uttar Pradesh is going backwards. On one hand Mr. Nehru was the MP of this place, while on the other, today, mafia and criminals are elected the MPs from here,” said the Youth Congress leader.

The young MP from Amethi has put forward many a questions to be answered both by the politicians in general and the ones who really want to do good for the people of the country. And, there are others who need to correct their conduct.
