Launching a scathing attack against caste-based political formations in Uttar Pradesh, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said that as long parties like the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) are ruling UP the “sharing of spoils” would continue. Congress (I) leader said, “Caste-based political parties are holding back the growth and development of UP; Congress (I) is the only party which, with an inclusive agenda, can serve the interests of all sections of society irrespective of caste and creed. Now, the people of UP are seeking a change and only the Congress can change the destiny of the state in next decade.” He pointed out that under the present political dispensation in UP, the poor were being denied employment and farmers being forcibly dispossessed of their land. Rahul Gandhi promised that a government of the people by Congress (I) will work for aam admi and put the state on fast track development.
