Mayawati not concerned for progress of UP: Rahul Gandhi

Pointing out to rampant corruption, unemployment and non-development in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said that she has not taken any interest in the development of Uttar Pradesh.  She failed to utilize even minimal part of the special package for the Bundelkhand, said Rahul Gandhi while campaigning for the upcoming Assembly elections. Keeping in view the acute drought hit conditions of Bundelkhand Congress (I)-led UPA government at the center had sanctioned a special package of Rs 8,000 for the region.  But Mayawati government could spend only 8 to 9% of the funds, he said.  She is biased and lacked interest in implementing development schemes for Bundelkhand, Rahul Gandhi further said. Highlighting that while she has shown extraordinary interest in development of Gautam Budh Nagar district to which she belongs, she has not taken such interest in Bundelkhand and Poorvanchal which need urgent development. Urging the people not to trust her any more for ignoring their welfare and development of their region when crisis is looming large over them, Rahul Gandhi assured them that Congress (I) in its manifesto has committed to bring another special package for devilment and welfare of the people of Bundelkhand.
