Rahul Gandhi: UP looks for a Congress Government of the common man

Slamming Mayawati for having been ruling in the name of dalits without doing anything for them, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi has said people of Uttar Pradesh are fed up with governments of non-Congress parties like BSP, SP and BJP that have been polarising the people in the name of caste or religion. “What we need is a Government of the common man. The state cannot progress till we have a Government of ‘aam aadmi.’ This is the theme which Rahul Gandhi is emphasising across the people during his campaign for Congress in the state. Rahul Gandhi said in the last Assembly elections in 2007 Mayawati had promised corruption-free government but what we saw is that she has been running the most corrupt government.  BJP and SP have also been playing the same trick over the last twenty two years.  Reminding the people that they gave twenty two years to these parties without getting any results, Rahul Gandhi requested them to give a chance to Congress (I) to form government.  The Congress leader assured that Congress (I) would provide a government which would be responsive to the common man irrespective of caste or religion.

Rahul Gandhi said that the state needs a government that works for all sections of the society and thinks about the overall development of the state and also that only Congress can ensure such a Government.
