Kanpur: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a mammoth election rally at Naubasta, Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh as part of his ongoing Lok Sabha polls campaign. “Congress designs its programmes after discussing with the people. We consider that the people have the knowledge and power. Our duty is just to come to you and seek your opinions. We respect people, their knowledge and strength”, said Rahul Gandhi.
“BJP also has come with its manifesto. What have they done? They just copied our manifesto and encrypted BJP symbol into it. As you know, we already have implemented one-rank-one-pension scheme for our soldiers across the country. But BJP manifesto offers the same but it does not understand that this programme already is in operation. Same is the case with industrial corridor project. BJP also copied our right to health proposal” lamented the Congress leader.
“Why does this happen?” Rahul Gandhi asked and continued, “BJP never bothered about people; it never goes to masses. BJP thinks that only one man in the whole world possesses entire knowledge. India (Gandhi) Ji had talked about a 20-point programme. But BJP has only a one-point agenda – to make one person the PM. There is no BJP, Advani ji or Jaswant Ji, only one individual (Modi)”.
“Our efforts are to empower the people – the poor, weak, women and downtrodden. On the other side BJP is divisive. Its friend – Shiv Sena, an NDA ally- threaten people from UP and Bihar in Maharashtra. BJP cadres beat up women in Karnataka” asserted the Congress Vice President.
Focussing on the proposals on women empowerment made in the Congress manifesto, Rahul Gandhi informed, “Our manifesto offers 2000 dedicated Mahila police stations across the country. We had implemented 50% women reservation in local bodies. But the women reservation bill which grants 33% reservation in Parliament and assemblies is still pending as the BJP has been blocking its passage. We will pass that bill too. We will ensure adequate women representation in Parliament as well as in the Congress party. We talk a lot about our country becoming a super power. But we can never achieve this till we empower our women properly”.
Slamming Gujarat model, the Congress leader quipped, “What is happening in Gujarat? The small industries in the state are shutting down. Same is the case with textile units. Just 2-3 business houses avail the entire benefits and people get nothing. The farmers, labourers, poor, all suffer”.
Lashing out at the double speak of BJP on graft, Rahul Gandhi said, “BJP talks a lot of corruption but its manifesto does not include any action plan to fight graft. BJP just talks, but does nothing. It was Congress which enacted RTI Act and Lokpal. There are no sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat and there is no proper Lokayukta too in the state” and added, “There are 5 more anti-corruption bills are still pending in the Parliament as the BJP opposes its passage”.
While concluding his address, the Congress leader struck a chord with the people and commented, “Kanpur was one called ‘Manchester of the East’. I want a day when Manchester would be called ‘Kanpur of the West’. This must be our focus and if we want to transform Kanpur, we must think about the state government also. Only a Congress government can serve you sincerely”.

Doda: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a huge election rally at Doda in Jammu and Kashmir and took on BJP for its double-speak on women empowerment. He also targeted BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his ‘late’ admission that he is married to Jashodaben, in the recent poll affidavit filed.
“Nowadays, I see BJP poster with the promise of women empowerment. They talk about women empowerment but its cadres beat up women in Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister had told me that one of BJP’s former ministers was charged with assault on women. BJP MLAs watch porn through mobiles at state Assembly. How the women of India could feel safe under BJP and Modi's so-called Gujarat model when in Gujarat, policemen are sent behind a woman, her phone was tapped by policemen. For the first time, only now, Modi admitted that he was married. Why did he hide it till now? Till date, he never had mentioned his wife’s name in any affidavit. We don't know how many elections he has fought, for the first time he has written that he is married. Still, BJP talks about women empowerment!” said Rahul Gandhi.
In another attack on Modi and BJP, the Congress leader lamented, “In Gujarat, hundreds of acres of lands were given to a particular businessman at throw-away prices. BJP sidelined Advani and accepted Adani. It ousted Jaswant Singh from the party”.
“For me India is a bouquet which contains various flowers. I treat every flower equally. For Congress all Indians are equal. We want to ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard in the system” reiterated Rahul Gandhi.
“We want to empower people more. That is why we talk about rights. But BJP makes people fight against another. They make people fight to suppress their voices. They want no one to question their actions. Congress runs governments for common man, the poor and downtrodden” explained the Congress Vice President.
Continuing his onslaught against BJP, Rahul Gandhi continued, “BJP leaders never try to understand the issues of the people. They are egoistic. They do not have any faith in people. I and my party believe that people have the knowledge and that is why we go to the people. We learn a lot from them. I believe politicians have to learn from the masses. They must go to them and interact with the masses” and added, “I am not at all worried about win and loss. I have just one thing – the love and affection of the people”.
“BJP wants to impose its ideology on others. They want Gujarat model to be replicated everywhere. It is not possible. Kashmir needs Kashmir Model. The only thing we must do is to empower the people. That is what Congress has been trying to do” he explained.
“We will win this time too. We will treat everyone equally and will take everyone together with us in our efforts for development. Our focus is benefit of entire people. We want to work with love and affection and take forward our country towards more progress”, Rahul Gandhi concluded.

In Assam, Rahul Gandhi lashes out at BJP, says it instigates violence
Silchar: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a mega election rally at Assam’s Silchar on Wednesday and launched a scathing attack on BJP and NDA for instigating violence across the country.
“When NDA was in power, they forgot our poor, farmers and downtrodden. In Maharashtra, they threaten labourers from UP and Bihar. Gujarat riots took place under it. We witnessed riots at Muzaffarnagar. Wherever they go, they instigate violence; make people fight each other” said the Congress leader.
“There is huge difference between us and the opposition; I repeat it everywhere I go. For us India is a bouquet, which contains different flowers – that of various religions, languages and regions. We must respect them all. But in Maharashtra, our opposition parties threaten the people from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Their leaders come here too and make big speeches on unity but they do not understand your culture or history” explained Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress Vice President continued further slamming ‘Gujarat model’, “Congress respects every individual, language and places. You can talk your language anywhere in our country. But BJP wants one model to be replicated everywhere in our country. In Assam, they talk about Gujarat model. But Assam needs Assam model which has been working fine. Assam, therefore, do not need a Gujarat model” and added, “BJP thinks that if one leader is made the Prime Minister, that will solve all the issues. They urge people to make him the chowkeedar (watchman) of our country. But Congress wants every citizen to be India’s watchman. We want the people to handle the key of our nation. You must be able to go anywhere and live with respect there”.
“BJP wants development of a selected group. That is what happening in Gujarat. We want an India where everyone is uplifted” said Rahul Gandhi.
Referring to the Congress manifesto, the party leader informed, “In future, we want to give people three more new rights. Like right to food, right to job now we plan to give them right to healthcare by giving free treatment and medicines and a right to shelter to enable the poor to have their own houses. Apart from these, we also will launch new pension schemes for the old-aged persons”.
“Congress always worked for all, for all sections without any discrimination. We want to empower all our people. That is why we implemented Panchayati raj, reservation for women in local bodies and implemented most of the recommendations of the Sachhar committee. We will continue with our efforts to serve our people. We will address your local issues too” he assured.
Leaders must go to the people. The people are the best teachers and every politician must know it and should try to gather knowledge from the people. They should shun their ego and must go the masses with bowed head.

“Their (BJP’s) model is to make huge balloons, fill it with the air of Gujarat Model or India Shining or Karnataka Model and send up. BJP is expert in marketing. And if they win elections they run a government for a selected group like Reddys and loot the people. It tried this model and failed in Karnataka” said Rahul Gandhi.
Rahul Gandhi alluded to the snooping scandal under Modi government in Gujarat and said police in Gujarat is used to chasing women and tapping their phones and on the other hand the BJP puts up posters saying give strength to women. “Few times back, I had seen a poster of the ‘India Shining’ people with the promise of women empowerment. They talk about women empowerment but its cadres do moral policing, beat up women in Bangalore. Further you must have heard about one of BJP’s former ministers Mr. Hallappa, who was accused of rape. There were also reports of BJP MLAs watching porn through mobiles at Assembly. How the women of India could feel safe under BJP and Modi's so-called Gujarat model when in Gujarat, policemen are sent behind women, women's phones are tapped by policemen. On one side BJP government taps the phones of women, on the other side they put posters of women empowerment!” he argued.
Praising the state government, the party vice president continued, “The present Congress government in Karnataka launched several pro-poor schemes in the past ten months. By its Anna Bhagya Yojana, every poor family gets 30 kg rice at Rs. 1 per kg. Under Ksheer Bhagya Yojana, about one crore kids get free milk. We work for the welfare of farmers, poor and downtrodden”.
Rahul Gandhi also took at a dig at BJP’s internal rifts and said, “Earlier, I had promised you regarding Article 371J. I had assured you that the Bill related to this will be passed. The senior leader of BJP Sh. Advani – sorry, he was a senior leader once but not now. BJP has cut him short now- had said that Article 371J will cut the nation into pieces. We passed it but nothing happened to our country” and asserted, “Congress, it’s PM and party President, deliver on our promised. Once we say something, we put in our sincere efforts to accomplish it”.
“BJP can never empower you and they can never respect you. They never give respects to the women who constitute 50% of our constitution, either” said the Congress leader. “Congress never runs government for any particular caste or religion. It treats everyone equally and works for entire people, without any discrimination. We do not need any other model. Karnataka has its own model and it is working fine. It is the model for the development of the poor. Congress politics is the politics of the people. The knowledge is with the people, we realise it” said the Congress leader striking a chord with the huge crowd.

While addressing a huge crowd in Dakshinpuri, New Delhi he said, we have been interacting with people before making our manifesto. But BJP hasn’t come up with its manifesto though election is only few days away. “Those who were running the government in Delhi, they ran away from responsibilitied. Some went to UP and some to other places. But Delhi suffered," Rahul Gandhi said slamming AAP.
Rahul Gandhi also lashed out at AAP again by saying it’s easy to make false promise but hard to fulfill it as they gave only 3 months budget for electricity out of 12 months.
“The difference is that we do the politics of harmony but they (BJP) do the politics of hatred and anger. They want to give power only to one person,’’ he noted.
“BJP's thinking is that all the knowledge, all the solutions of the problems is only with one single leader. But we believe in empowering the every single citizen of India,” Congress Vice President said.
“We want to run your government. Leaders don't run India but it is run by its people,” Rahul Gandhi said firmly.
Rahul Gandhi also said that BJP says that India needs a Chowkidaar (watchman). They believe if ‘Chowkidaar’ becomes PM then everything will be fine,
Whereas Congress believes India doesn’t need a single chowkidaar but India wants every citizen to be a chowkidaar. “We want to empower every citizen.” Rahul Gandhi said.

While addressing a public Rahul Gandhi slammed BJP's Gujarat model propaganda by saying Haryana doesn’t need any Gujarat model, Haryana model is sufficient enough.
“NDA talks about Gujarat model but we don’t need it for Haryana. Haryana model is sufficient enough for this state,” Rahul Gandhi said.
“Haryana leads in wheat production, in milk and also in sports. You have enough resources you don’t need any Gujarat model,” Congress Vice President asserted.
“BJP beats drums against corruption but shares stage with tainted Yeddurappa who had spent time in jail for corruption, now they have brought him again in their party,” he noted.
“Mining mafia is ruling the Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh but BJP does not see it. There are three convicted cabinet ministers in Gujarat who were jailed with graft charges. But they don’t see corruption in Gujarat too,” Rahul Gandhi argued aggressively.
“Congress has always fought corruption. We have implemented RTI to combat corruption. Only few days are left for elections, but BJP has not yet put its Manifesto on public domain," lame,ted the Congress leader.

Our opposition talks about one leader but in Kerala the Congress party talks about thousands and millions of leaders. We have leaders at every single level in Kerala. And this is the politics of the 21st century. If you want to change, if you want to fight corruption we want to empower every citizen. It is this participatory politics of Kerala that inspires me”.
“Today we have broadly three ideologies. One is that of Left which talks against poverty but creates poverty among the educated. They say everyone should be same and poor. The other side you have the India Shining idea. They want few people handle entire wealth of this country and want to give entire power to a limited group. Striking a chord with women, the young Congress leader continued, “If you look at Kerala and its success, there is a big role for the women. The best nurses in the world are from Kerala and they look after sick people across the globe. We, therefore, want to empower women in the rst of our country and we have already put the bill to grant 33% reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies. That is why we are guaranteeing 2000 police stations fully dedicated to them. That is why we connected lakhs of women with banks through Self Help Groups (SHG) which has been very successful in the state”.

While speaking on the occasion he argued that only the Congress party is bringing a balance between prosperity and fairness.
“For any society to move forward, you need two things to happen. You need prosperity and fairness. Prosperity for a few people breaks down very quickly and fairness for everybody without prosperity also breaks down” said the Congress leader and added, “If you look back to history, you will see that the most popular emperors or rulers were those who could create a balance between prosperity and fairness”. “It is only the Congress party that brings a balance between prosperity and fairness; we bring together industry and the people. We want that industries must come to Kasargode but the people of Kasargode must also get its benefits,” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
In a direct attack on BJP, the Congress Vice President continued, “The Congress party tries to reduce anger in society. The opposition, particularly the BJP, plays with anger and tries to increase the anger in the society. They want to divide you and want you to fight with each other and they want to advantage of that fight. But the real aim of making you fight is to take away your resources, to take away your wealth and hand it over to a few people. They think if they make the people of India fight you won’t question when a few people take away your wealth, money and a few business people get all your power”.
“If you look at the statements of the opposition leaders, one of the statements they make is, “I will be India’s chowkeedar (watchman)”. In the Congress party we don’t want to give you one watchman. We want all of you, the millions of people in our country, chowkeedars. We believe the millions and millions of our people. We want to give you powers through our right based paradigms, we wnat to give right t information, Lokpal, Panchayati Raj and we want to give more and more powers to the poor, women and youngsters of our country”, added Rahul Gandhi.
While referring to the Congress manifesto for the 2014 general election, the Congress leader informed, “I want to tell little bit on what we are going to do after winning the 2014 elections. Over the past ten years of our rule, we have lifted 15 crore people out of poverty. Now a new class of people has been created, those are above poverty line but below the middle class. These are the carpenters, security guards, truck drivers, and plumbers - those who run this country. There are 70 cr people who fall in this category. Our entire focus is to take this 70 cr people to the middle class. We want to open the doors of education and health care systems for them. We want to give them all their children opportunity for higher education to make their dreams come true”.
“They must realise that success always comes from partnerships. UPA govt has been successful in the past ten years because we built a partnership between the business and poor people. The UPA govt built a partnership between different sections of people, belonging to all caste, religions and regions, across the country. We want every single person believes that there is a place and future for him in the country” he added.

Bellary: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi, while addressing a mammoth election rally at Bellary in Karnataka as part of his ongoing Lok Sabha polls campaign, launched a scathing attack on the BJP for its double stance on corruption.
Striking a chord with the massive crowd, Rahul Gandhi said, “Congress has a long relationship with Bellary. Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi had fought election from here. You always have supported us and I am confident about your support in future too”.
In a strong attack on BJP, the Congress leader lamented, “We have development plans for Bellary. The conditions of schools, colleges, electricity and water will be improved. However, we will ensure that corruption, which was rampant during BJP regime, is not back here again. We will take strong actions against corrupt BJP politicians in Bellary”.
“We have created Hubli-Hospet Section of NH-63, a Rs. 1400 crore project. UPA Govt. has started the work on Bellary-Siruguppa-Lingasugur rail line... We have set up Central University in Gulbarga. UPA Govt is also setting up a Rural Development and Panchayati Raj University in Karnataka and IIIT in Dharwad” informed Rahul Gandhi.
“Congress works for the poor and the weak. Our efforts are to transform the lives of all sections of the society – the Dalits, tribals and minorities. That is why we used the word 'Adhikar' for the first time and we gave you RTI, NREGA and Right to Food in 2004, at the Centre. Our vision is development by granting people their legitimate rights” said the Congress Vice President and said further, “Our Mahatma Gandhi NREGA scheme ensures right to job and by which lakhs of rural poor benefitted. The Food Security law ensures food at subsidized rates to crores of poor in our country. Similarly we also implemented revolutionary policies of Right to Education and Right to Information. The decisions and information which were behind closed doors earlier, are now in public domain, after the enactment of RTI”.
“In future also, we will continue to serve the poor and will ensure their welfare, along with development. In our 2014 election manifesto we have promised right to healthcare, a scheme to provide free medicines and treatments for the poor. Apart from this we also promise pension schemes and right to shelter in it” said Rahul Gandhi referring to some of the promises made in the Congress manifesto for the 2014 general election.
“We will again form a pro-poor Congress government at the Centre which works for social justice and empowerment of the people. Support Congress and elect our candidates in the coming Lok Sabha polls” said the confident Congress leader while concluding his address.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a mega party rally in Bihar’s Aurangabad as part of his campaign for the upcoming Lok Sabha polls. “Congress believes in a politics of love. We never make people fight against another. Shiv Sena is an ally of BJP and is in NDA. Who threatens the people from Bihar in Maharashtra? It is Shiv Sena, the BJP ally. But BJP and NDA come here and make huge promises of Bihar’s development but never talk about the assaults on Bihari people in Maharashtra” said the Congress leader striking a chord with the large crowd.
“Wherever BJP goes, they incite violence. They make people fight. I had interacted with some Sikh farmers working in Gujarat. They have been working there since independence but now they face threat of eviction from the Gujarat government. But the SAD which is a partner of BJP (and NDA) never uttered any word against it” said Rahul Gandhi slamming BJP and NDA.
About future plans of the Congress party, the party leader explained, “In the next ten years, we will generate 10 crore new jobs for the youth. We know that for development, our youth must get proper education and sufficient jobs. The new dedicated freight-industrial corridor project initiated by us (Delhi- Mumbai, Mumbai-Chennai and Delhi – Kolkata) will boost the industries and also will generate lakhs of job”. “We gave people right to job, right to education and right to food. Now we plan to give them right to health care so that the poor can get free medicines. We will open the doors of hospitals for them. Similarly we will also provide them with a right to shelter and we also plan pension schemes for the old aged persons” he added.
“We wanted to build a strong base under the feet of the poor. We want to instil a feeling of self reliance inside their minds. We want to empower the poor. We want their children also get quality education and proper jobs. BJP wants development for only a selected group. The issues of poor and downtrodden are not at all important for BJP” asserted the Congress Vice President.
“We talk less but act. We never give hollow promises. BJP and NDA are good at marketing and they spend huge amounts for it” he said in an indirect dig at BJP.
Rahul Gandhi then focussed on issues of women. “50% of our population is women. We always talk about super power. But India can never be a superpower if we do not empower our women. The women reservation to grant 33% reservation for women in Parliament and Assemblies are still pending. It is the BJP who opposes it as they never want women empowerment. But we will pass it like we passed the legislation to grant 50% reservation for women in Panchayats. Similarly our manifesto also offers about 2000 mahila police stations across the country. We will connect more women with the banks through Self Help Groups” he said.
“We treat everyone equally and we want to work for the welfare of all sections. But BJP talks about only one person and they think all issues will be solved if that person becomes Prime Minister. We are different from them. We believe in empowering all our citizens” underlined Rahul Gandhi and sought people’s support for Congress.

Rahul Gandhi in Odisha takes on BJP, says Congress treats everyone equally

Rahul Gandhi at Congress rally in Odisha: BJP does not see the problems of the poor
Nabarangpur: “The NDA leaders talk a lot but do nothing for the people. The pain and problems of the people are not visible for them” said Rahul Gandhi, the Congress Vice President, while addressing a huge Congress rally at Nabarangpur in Odisha.
“Odisha is a rich state; it has huge wealth, natural resources and forests. But though the state is rich, the people are poor here. There is no shortage of anything here. But your government take away your natural resources and sell it to big industrialists and only a handful people, not the people, avail benefits” said Rahul Gandhi taking on the BJD government in the state and continued, “The water for irrigation in Odisha is not reaching the people as it is being diverted to rich industrialists. I am not saying that industrialists should not get water and electricity. But what Congress believes is the poor also must get benefits alongwith the business people. There should be a balanced approach for development”.
Referring to UPA policies, the Congress leader commented, “In 2004, the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre waived off debts of poor farmers, worth Rs. 70000 cr. When we were initiating that the opposition tried to block it by asking from where we will have funds for it. But we were determined and told them that farmers are the pillars of our nation and we will arrange money for their welfare. We showed them how to make funds for it. Then the opposition said loan-waiving was wastage of money. We replied that helping farmers is never wastage of funds for Congress. By helping farmers, we are actually helping our nation”.
He went on further striking a chord with the farmers there and said, “We then had fought for the farmers’ rights in their lands at Niyamgiri. The farmers had just asked one thing, if rich people can get adequate market prices for their lands, then why can’t the farmers? Congress felt that their demands were right. We took up their matter and fought for their rights. The Land Acquisition Law enacted by the UPA Government is its outcome. Now no one can grab any farmer’s land forcibly. Further, this new revised bill ensures four-times more market prices for the land acquired. I am also happy to convey that the farmers get 3 times more price for their crops than the NDA period”.
Rahul Gandhi then focussed on welfare of women and commented, “It is the women who run our country and development is not possible without them. We gave you 50% reservation for women in Panchayats and now we want to grant reservation for you in Parliament and assemblies. The bill for the same is still pending as the opposition has been blocking it. But I assure you that the Congress party will ensure its passage. We are also happy to connect lakhs of women with banks through Self Help Groups (SHG).Our manifesto for 2014 elections promises all-women-run police stations across the country”.
“Congress treats every citizen equally. For us all are equal - Hindu, Muslim, Christian. We work for the poor, Dalits, Adivasis, women and the youth and we fight to protect their rights.. Support Congress and elect our candidates” said the Congress Vice President while concluding his address.

Rahul Gandhi: We do not support any abusive comment by anyone against our opponent

We do not support anger and hatred, says Rahul Gandhi at Ghaziabad
Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi started his UP campaign by addressing a massive rally in Ghaziabad. While addressing the masses he said Delhi is near to Ghaziabad but UP government not able to give same infrastructure and development. Pharmaceutical industry and other industries gradually moved from there. He also said Congress doesn’t support harsh words or bad language against any individual.
“Our candidate used harsh words against an individual of opposition. The words he used are not in line with the ideology of Congress. Congress is a party which belongs to all. We don’t support anger. Whether our opposition calls us driver or labour for that matter or abuse but we need to speak politely.” Rahul Gandhi said.
While delivering the speech Rahul Gandhi also spoke about the ‘balloon’ of NDA which was burst by the poor people of India twice.
Rahul Gandhi also talked about the corruption. He said it’s Congress who brought the RTI to combat corruption not NDA or BJP for that matter. “BJP talks of corruption. Their leaders go to Karnataka and talk about corruption but they don’t see Yeddurappa ji who had to go to jail for corruption. They claim that they are against corruption and if you are against corruption then why you are aligning with him?” said Rahul Gandhi.
Congress Vice President also raised the topic of ex-servicemen. He said that there was NDA’s government from 1998 to 2004. They claimed what Congress has done in 10 years they will do it 3 months.
“You were in power for 6 years buy you did not implement the one rank - one pension. Now when election is approaching they are promise to do it. Ex-servicemen came to meet me, Sonia Gandhi ji and Prime Minister and requested for one rank one pension scheme. Prime Minister took only 3 days to approve it.” Rahul Gandhi said.
Rahul Gandhi also talked about the ideology of Congress, “There is a huge difference of ideology between Congress and opposition. We talk about peace and harmony not anger.”
“You need a leader who works for you. You make sure Raj Babbar ji wins from here with more than 2 lakh votes. Everyone will try to make this happen including Me.” said Rahul Gandhi.
Earlier today Congress Vice President met the artisans in Moradabad and heard their issues.
