As per CBI report Mayawati has amassed illegal wealth: Congress (I)

Congress (I) has said that Mayawati has bred corruption in the state of Uttar Pradesh during last eight years. Mayawati has been removing ministers from her cabinet and suspending her MLAs on grounds of corruption but it is strange that when corruption cases started against her she approached Supreme Court to scrap the cases against her, said Congress (I). People very well remember CM Mayawati's money garland row. CBI has told the Supreme Court that it has evidence to prove that she and her relatives have illegal wealth. The CBI, in an affidavit in a corruption case against her, said it has statements of witnesses to show that she virtually forcibly acquired gifts from people. CBI said it has got clinching evidence to prove that they acquired wealth and built assets far exceeding their legal income. Although Mayawati likes to call herself as Garib ki Beti, she does not dislike accepting

a garland, made of Rs 1,000-denomination currency notes and valued at about Rs 21 lakh, said Congress (I).
