Congress (I) has slammed Mayawati government for creating 'administrative anarchy' in the state of Uttar Pradesh where a person not accountable to anybody was made incharge of taking policy decisions. Mayawati's decision to appoint Shashank Shekhar Singh as cabinet secretary has been described as a 'mockery of constitutional norms'. The Maya government haas already come under intense attack of Congress (I) for failure in all spheres. The Supreme Court's has questioned the Uttar Pradesh government's decision to appoint a non-civil servant as a cabinet secretary. The observation was on public interest litigation. Congress (I) feels by appointing a non-civil servant as cabinet secretary, chief minister has created an unconstitutional post. This has created strong resentment in state bureaucracy set-up. Congress (I) has demanded a probe into the appointment and decisions taken by Singh alleging that chief minister's office has become the source of corruption in the state.
