Rahul Gandhi: If proper RTI commissioners, Lokayukta are appointed in Gujarat, Modi will be in jail
Dahod: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi launched yet another scathing attack on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing a huge election rally at Dahod in Gujarat, the Congress leader lamented, “Modi talks loud of corruption but is not seeing the convicted ministers in his cabinet. Congress enacted RTI - a powerful weapon to fight corruption. Every citizen is legally entitled to gather any information about govt. Functioning. Lots of graft cases came out. But remember, there are no sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat under Modi. There is only one chowkeedar - Modi. There is no proper Lokayukta too. The day Gujarat has adequate RTI commissioners and proper Lokayukta, your chowkeedar (Modi) will be in jail”.
“Gujarat has developed in the past 60 years due to the hard works of its people. The diamond workers, textile workers as well as the women who contributed high for Amul’s establishment had a good role in state’s progress. But, now, here is new leader Modi ji, who claims credits for entire development in Gujarat as if the state was sleeping in the past 60 years. Now, he promises to develop entire country too, as if nothing had taken place in our country in the past 60 years!” further said Rahul Gandhi.
“He roams around the country and urges the people to make him a chowkeedar (watchman). He wants people to hand over the key of India to him. Remember, some chowkeedar loots too. Congress wants every Indian to become a watchman of the country” said the Congress Vice President amid huge cheers from the crowd..
“This election is a fight between two ideologies. On one side there is Congress party which believes in love, brother hood and unites people. It takes everyone along and aims at developing all. On the other side we have BJP which wants development of only a selected group. It wants progress for just 2-3 business persons. It wants farmers remain as farmers and workers to remain as mere workers” he said.
“We want people dream big. Over the past ten years we ensured that your money reached you back. Every year we allot Rs. 30000 cr for NREGA, to guarantee jobs to rural poor. It is your money, not of any business person. We ensure that every Indian avail its benefits, without any discrimination. For the first time, people started realising their rights. Similarly we gave people right to food by which every poor is assured with food” said the Congress leader.
“Just listen to Congress leader’s speeches. We never say ‘I ‘ but ‘we’. But Modi ji keeps on saying ‘mein, mein, mein...’ “I will do it, I will do that, I developed Gujarat, I will develop India..” Tomorrow he also may say that he will transform the entire globe and entire universe” mocked Rahul Gandhi.
He urged people to support Congress and elect party candidates in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

Rahul Gandhi talks on BJP, says Gujarat is shining only for handful of industrialists
Balasinor: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday launched a blistering attack on BJP and Gujarat Government led by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi. While addressing a huge Congress rally at Balasinor as part of his Lok Sabha poll campaign in Gujarat, the party voice President said that Gujarat is shining only for a handful of industrialists.
“The state government forcibly grabbed lands of poor farmers here. Did anyone could get a job? Thousands of acres of land were taken but there is no employment. The below poverty line figure is pegged at Rs. 11 in Gujarat but it is being publicised in the other regions of the country that Gujarat is shining. Kids die of malnutrition but BJP claims that Gujarat is shining. Yes, I agree, Gujarat is Gujarat is indeed shining but only for 10-15 rich industrialists and corporate houses; not for the poor, the women and the youth here” said Rahul Gandhi.
Attacking further the BJP and RSS, the Congress Vice President referred to the move of Modi government to build a huge statue of Sardar Patel and said “Sardar Patel had said that the ideology of RSS is poisonous which would kill the very soul of our nation. As I had said earlier, the BJP leaders spend most of their life with the RSS but never bother to know what Patel ji had said about RSS”.
“BJP leaders also talk about our rich tradition and culture. But they do not read history or mythology. They do not read Gita or similar books in which it is clearly written about our ideology. It has mentioned about our rich tradition of loving all, respecting all, brotherhood and about the necessity to take everyone along without any discrimination” he said further and added, “Now BJP wants to finish Congress but they never think who had formed the Congress party. It was Sardar Patel and Mahatma Gandhi who made the Congress party. By saying that they want to remove Congress, BJP wants to remove Gandhi ji and Patel ji. It wants to kill an ideology for which Gandhi ji and Patel ji had stood for throughout their life; and now, they want to build a statue of Sardar Patel!”
“There are two types of leaders. One who think people are wise and you can learn from them, like Mahatma Gandhi. He goes to them, asks them and learns from them. The thinking of this kind of leader is that it is the people who are repository of knowledge. Such a leader wants to understand people and has no pride. They realise that people possess the knowledge and have a mindset to learn from them. That is why Gandhi ji had gone to the people during Dandi march. They never show arrogance” said Rahul Gandhi and then went on further, “Then there is another kind of leader, whose best example is perhaps Hitler. Hitler thought there was no need to go to people. Hitler never realised the power of the people. He had believed that people possess no knowledge. He always thought that he was the epitome of knowledge. Such leaders need not go to the people. They just deliver big speeches, make huge claims and make tall promises. We need such leaders who realise that it is the people who put in their efforts for development”.
“BJP has no ideology, no revolutionary thinking. They have only anger, which they will give you and pit you against one another. We do not have any anger. We only have love and affection. We believe in the strength of our people” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
The Congress leader also slammed the BJP for blocking the anti-people moves of the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre and said “In the last ten years of the UPA government regime at the Centre, we provided jobs to 5 lakh rural poor by MNREGA. We are guaranteeing food to about 80 crore people through the Food Security Act. But remember, when we were introducing these schemes, the BJP had opposed the move and said that such policies are a wastage of funds. When your land is taken away and something is snatched from you, then there is no waste. But it is wastage for them when you are given something, when the poor is given something.”
“The leaders from BJP talk about corruption. Three Ministers in Gujarat have gone to jail in corruption cases but they were not removed from the state cabinet. There was no Lokayukta in Gujarat till the Supreme Court intervened. Despite these, BJP leaders roam around and talk loud against corruption” said Rahul Gandhi exposing BJP’s double-speak on corruption.
Later Rahul Gandhi also interacted with the salt pan workers in the state.

Rahul Gandhi addresses Gujarat rally: BJP follows RSS ideology that killed Mahatma Gandhi
Bardoli: Rahul Gandhi today addressed a huge rally at Gujarat’s Bardoli and took on the BJP saying it represents RSS ideology which has killed Mahatma Gandhi. He also took an indirect dig at Gujarat Chief Minister and BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and said that while the people work hard for development in the state, just one person takes the entire credit.
“The BJP leaders here talk about Sardar Patel and say they will l make his statue. But these people don't know history. They haven’t read any books on the ideologies of Gandhi ji and Sardar Patel ji. They know nothing. .. Sardar Patel said that RSS is a poisonous ideology which will destroy the soul of India. The BJP leaders spend their entire life with RSS. They neither know about Patel nor they read about him, but want to build his statue” said Rahul Gandhi.
“It was the RSS ideology that killed Mahatma Gandhi. After the assassination of Gandhi ji, Sardar Patel had moved a resolution to ban the RSS. Sardar Patel gave his entire life for the Congress party and fought for the rights of the poor. But these leaders in BJP never read about it, never thought about it but want to build his statue!” he added.
Slamming Modi’s claims on Gujarat development, the Congress Vice President said, “BJP makes big gains in education sector. 13000 govt schools were shut down in Gujarat, but this is never mentioned by its leaders anywhere” and continued, “..In Gujarat, just one person has the entire power. No one else has any power or rights... We want to give people their rights. But here the government runs for selected people. We fight for the people, the farmers, Adivasis and the poor. This is the difference between us and BJP”. “Gujarat progressed due to the sweat of its people, not because of one man's efforts. People of Gujarat worked hard and he takes the credit for it” he commented.
Launching a sccathing attack on BJP’s stance on corruption, Rahul Gandhi said, “Who stopped appoint of Lokayukta in Gujarat? The BJP govt spent Rs 40 crores to block Lokayukta appointment. Modi govt did not let lokyukta pass in Gujarat for nine years. Entire world knows it; entire women know it. Gujarat cabinet has three convicted persons as ministers. Still they talk too much on corruption”.
“I want to make it clear that Gujarat does not have the government of poor people. It does not work for the upliftment of the poor and Adivasis and their voices are not heard. Only handful of people runs the government and works for the elite” asserted Rahul Gandhi.
“While we talk about eradicating poverty, BJP talks about eradicating the poor people. We talk about providing the poor with jobs, food, health and education. Indira Gandhi said ‘gareebi hataao’ but BJP wants ‘gareeb hataao”. This is the difference” further said the Congress leader.
When someone from the crowd made the ‘chaai waala’ comment, Rahul Gandhi immediately shot back, “The entire India does some work. Some make tea, some drive taxi's, some are farmers. We need to respect everyone. We have to respect chai wala, labourer or farmer. Respect everyone.. But not the one who makes fool of us” and the huge crowd greeted it with loud applauds.
