Rahul Gandhi in Bundelkhand

AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is on two days visit to Bundelkhand . He will address a joint rally with Prime Minister at Banda on Saturday afternoon . He last came to this region about two years ago.

Rahul Gandhi’s continuous efforts to harness the potential of the youth to the development of the nation have started showing positive results. A local leader of Youth Congress said, “Rahul Gandhi’s special interest in Bundelkhand has given a strong push to the membership drive of the Youth Congress. . We have been forced to extend the drive in the region till May 7.” He will discuss party organizational issues with the State and local party leaders.

All India Congress Committee General Secretary Rahul Gandhi was on a visit to Amethi today, April 27. At Jayas, he visited Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology. From Raebareli Rahul Gandhi reached office of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) in Lucknow. A large crowd quickly gathered and was anxious to know the reason of the visit of the Congress leader.

Without education there can be no development: Rahul Gandhi

Rahul Gandhi is on two days visit to Amethi since Friday. He is visiting Amethi, his parliamentary constituency to express his condolence to families of those 14 persons killed in road accident at Saresar village on 11th April 2011 . As many as 30 other persons were injured in that accident. AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi also visited the houses of those injured and wished them early recovery. The injured being from different villages the Young Leader took upon himself to visit some of them yesterday evening while the remaining areas were covered by him today morning.

Rahul Gandhi offers healing touch to the victims of road accident in Amethi

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is on a visit to his constituency. After reaching Amethi he went to meet families of the victims of a recent road accident that claimed 14 lives, in his parliamentary constituency.

The Congress leader, after landing at the Lucknow airport, travelled straight to Pahadpur village to meet the affected families.

The Amethi MP is visiting his constituency on a two-day visit to meet people and review various development schemes. The Young Congress leader always makes it a point to meet the people personally so that he can have first hand information and see for himself the pace of development schemes he has set in motion for uplifting social and economic conditions of the masses. Such visits also provide valuable opportunity to the Young leader to interact with the people and to know about their view points on various issues.

I strongly support the institution of Lokpal: Sonia Gandhi

Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Wednesday assured Anna Hazare that she does not support "politics of smear campaign" and she was strongly committed to the institution of Lokpal.
She assured that there is urgent necessity to combat graft and corruption and he should not doubt her commitment in the fight for probity in public life She pointed out that the Lokpal Bill is very much part of the agenda of the NAC and a working group has been formed to evolve broad principles for discussion and approval in the next meeting of the Council on April 28.

Give befitting reply to Left Front by defeating them: Sonia Gandhi

Second round of campaigning in West Bengal for Assembly polls is in full swing. Congress President Sonia Gandhi today held a rally in Nalhati in Birbhum district. The polling will be held on Saturday.
She started her address with a salutation to the pious land of West Bengal. “I have come here to seek your support for Congress-TC candidates on the basis of performance of UPA government at the Centre”, she said.
She was anguished to see the conditions of the people in the State. “Left Front government has taken the state to near collapse”, she said.
State debt has soared to 2 lacs crores under the Left rule which is alarming. The Left Front government in its own report has admitted that half of the people are living below poverty line and have not got even BPL cards. In certain areas two third of the people do not have drinkable water facilities. There was no law and order in the State. She was dismayed to state that atrocities against weaker sections were on the rise particularly against women. She said there was no urban development.

Left failed to utilize Central funds: Sonia Gandhi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi was in Jalpaiguri, West Bengal where she addressed a rally for the forthcoming State Assembly elections.
She started her address by highlighting the plight of people in the State. Congress President said that the condition of the people was getting bad to worse due to neglect by the Left government.
She referred to various schemes initiated by the UPA government at the Centre for the development of states. Sufficient central funds were provided to the Left government to implement progressive schemes, she said. The Left Front Government had failed to make use of Central funds given to the state for its development. .
She requested the people to ask the Left Front government as to where those central funds had been spent. She was very emphatic that so much amount of funds was given to the states by UPA government as no government in the past had done.

Congress-TMC alliance to bring development to West Bengal :Rahul Gandhi

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was in Naxalabari, Darjeeling district, Northern Bengal today for holding rally in support of the Congress and Trinamool Congress candidates. Addressing his first election meeting in this belt the General Secretary asked the people of West Bengal to end the 34-year-old "misrule" of CPI(M) and elect a government of "aam admi" in the coming polls.
Rahul Gandhi referred to failures of ruling CPI-M in education, attracting investment and controlling unemployment. Left Front government took the state backwards while the rest of the country was advancing, the Congress Leader said. "The government should be of 'aam admi' (common man) and think of the welfare of the people, but the ruling Left Front thinks of its own organisation and cadres first and then for the people of the state," Rahul Gandhi said.
