Priyanka Gandhi: Rahul Gandhi works for Amethi with a long term vision

Priyanka Gandhi in Amethi: Rahul Gandhi has the same foresight like Rajiv Gandhi
Amethi: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, said that Rahul Gandhi also has the same far sighted vision like his father Rajiv Gandhi.
“Rajiv Gandhi was a visionary. He had a great love for the people of Amethi and you also had loved him. If he (Rajiv Gandhi) has done any development work like BHEL, Fursatganj airport, then that was not limited to one particular area, in fact, the spill over effect of development could be seen in near-by areas” and added, “Rahul Gandhi also has the same far sighted vision in his approaches. He follows his father’s footsteps. All his plans, programmes and policies for Amethi have been to empower people and to ensure welfare”.
“Rahul Gandhi also brought milk revolution here. Earlier, milk used to come from outside the area. Rahul Gandhi established 3 chilling plants here which eventually helped for this revolutionary progress in milk supply. Today truck- loads of milk go to across India, and for it the actual credit goes to Rahul Gandhi” said Priyanka Gandhi.
“Today there are seven National Highways passing through Amethi. He also made roads built through PMGSY in all villages with the population of more than 1000. Several electric polls were erected in the villages but providing electricity is state government’s duty. Sonia (Gandhi) ji had requested Mulayam Singh (Yadav) ji regarding this and the state government did some positive moves on this. But some other opposition parties have approached Court asking what is special with Amethi and Raebareli. Because of their objection, there is scarcity for electricity here. Rahul Ji also got several roads built using central schemes but the maintenance of the same is the responsibility of the state govt. We have been pressurizing the state govt on this. We are hopeful that we will be able to find a solution to these issues”, explained the Congress star campaigner.
“Due to his initiatives Amethi has several educational and technical institutes in the area between Jayes and Fursatganj. It will not only help youth get proper education but will also bring in tremendous economical growth in the whole region. We have FDDI, Petroleum institute, IIIT, Kendreeya Vidyalaya, 3 model schools and Navodaya Vidyalaya as well as we have Kasturba Gandhi BalikaVidyalay in every block, in the area between Fursatganj and Jayes. We have now several trains passing through Amethi and also introduced about 20 new trains from here” informed Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.

Rahul Gandhi in Uttarakhand slams Modi model and BJP’s politics of anger

Rahul Gandhi at Kashipur: Modi runs government only for Adani
Kashipur: “Modi govt works for only Adani” said Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi while speaking at a big election rally at Kashipur in Uttarakhand on Tuesday.
“What is happening under Gujarat model? About 45000 acres of land were given for at mere Rs 300 crore to a single industrialist – Adani- by Modi govt. We only get a toffee for Rs. 1, but Modi handed over lands at Rs. 1 per mtr to just one businessman. Adani, later, sold these lands at Rs. 800 per meter and earned huge profit. When Modi took over as CM, the turnover of Adani was just Rs 3000 cr but today it is Rs. 40000 crore. You get benefit only if your name is Adani, in Gujarat”.
“Modi govt gave contract worth Rs. 26000 cr to Adani. One in two children is malnourished in Gujarat. Anyone who earns more than Rs. 11 is rich there. 40 lac people do not get drinking water. They ignore dalits, SC/ ST. Modi govt works for only Adani” he added.
“Recently I heard someone was telling that ‘BJP leaders do not call Advani as Advani ji but refer Adani as Adani Ji’. After Modi came to the leadership, BJP sidelined Advani ji and Jaswant ji. One man decides everything there. Now Modi wants people to make him a watchman of this country. We saw what this chowkeedar did in Gujarat; gave away 45000 acres of land to one businessman and now Adani sponsoring the entire BJP and Modi campaign. We send huge funds under MNREGA etc and Modi hands over these to Adani” lamented the Congress leader.
“We need to empower people. We want to give them rights. We want to work with love. We can develop only if we realise the strength of our people” he asserted.
In a dig at RSS, the Congress Vice President said, “Golwalker had said we made a mistake by allowing women to vote. But Congress believes that our biggest achievement was to grant women the voting rights. Women are the pillars of development. They run their homes as well as the nation. But they do not get the respect they deserve. They need no power; what they need is our respects. The women live in fear and are scared to travel during night. We must address these issues”.
“We will open 2000 dedicated women police stations for the women and 35% of the police force will be women. We will pass bill to give 33% reservation for women. We will ensure women representation in Lok Sabha, Vidhan Sabha and in the Congress party. Country can never develop without women. We can never become a super power without empowering our women” said Rahul Gandhi striking a chord with the women.
“We will not send police after the women and will not tap your phones like we witnessed in Gujarat. We will respect you” he said further in another jibe at snoop gate row in Gujarat.

Priyanka Gandhi in Amethi (UP) takes indirect dig at Smriti Irani

Amethi: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of Congress President Sonia Gandhi while speaking at an election meeting at Amethi in Uttar Pradesh, the Lok Sabha constituency of her brother and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi took on BJP. Priyanka then took an indirect dig at Smriti Irani, the BJP candidate in Amethi and said, "Criticising others is easy. I want to ask the candidate who contested from Chandni Chowk (Lok Sabha constituency in Delhi), whether she went there again after the polls. All those contesting against Rahul are here just to contest against Rahul Gandhi. They do not have any concern for the people here. But our hearts are always here. I and my family are here because of our concern for you".

Priyanka Gandhi slams Modi again, this time for his Shehzada jibe

Priyanka Gandhi in Amethi hits back at Modi for his Shehzada jibe on Rahul Gandhi
Amethi: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, took yet another dig at BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi over his ‘shehzada’ remark about Rahul Gandhi. Priyanka is campaigning in Amethi, the Lok Sabha constituency of her brother and Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi.
“When Rajiv Gandhi had initiated landmark programmes like computer revolution, he had to face a lot of criticism from the very same people who are now lampooning Rahul Gandhi. Top leaders of a party (BJP) make fun of Rahul (Gandhi). At times they call him specimen, at times they compare him to a comedian, at times they call him shehzada...you dream of becoming the PM, then why behave childishly” said the Congress campaigner.
“They must tell people what are their specific plans for employment generation, development and women empowerment. Half of BJP’s manifesto is just a copy of Congress’. There are no specific programmes or schemes in it” asserted Priyanka Gandhi.
“The people, must therefore, decide what type of government they need and what sort of politics they are looking for. India has a rich tradition and culture and several Congress leaders sacrificed their lives to protect those values. All people – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians – all live in harmony here. Be vigilant enough against those divisive, destructive and negative forces, which spread hatred and anger among the people and make people, fight each other. When their leaders come to you then you must ask them to talk only about development. Ask them about their plans for your welfare. If you remain vigilant, politicians will be more careful” he underlined.
“It is the people who possess the power. The voting right is your biggest strength. You must never forget this and should never waste this chance. It is your love that brings leaders like me to stand in front of you. It is the people who create leaders. The first and foremost quality a leader must have is respect towards people. They must be open to realise the pains of the people. No leader has the right to mislead you” explained the star campaigner for the Congress party in Amethi.
“So think wisely before casting your votes. You must vote not for Rahul Gandhi, for Amethi but for the nation. Your votes must be to strengthen our country to protect its cultural ethos and values. Amethi has always been a model for others. So you must show path to others what kind of politics the country requires. You must tell others that we need a clean politics, which aims development, understands people’s issues and put in honest efforts to find solutions for their grievances” she argued.
“I am here to convey this to you, on behalf of Rahul Gandhi as he is busy campaigning across the country. So go to vote on 7th (May) in the same way as you have assembled here today, think about my words, and take a decision to strengthen the hands of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress, so that our country will go from strength to strength” concluded Priyanka Gandhi..

For BJP, development means, progress of 2-3 industrialists... Congress wants all poor also to dream big. We want to uplift the weak and downtrodden. They told me with tears in their eyes that Modi government called them ‘outsiders’ in Gujarat. They have been working hard in Gujarat since independence but today they face threat of eviction from the Gujarat government. The SAD, which runs a government in Punjab with BJP, does not utter a word against it”.
“We see posters of Modi and BJP on women empowerment. But BJP cadres beat up women in Karnataka. About 20000 women are missing in Chhattisgarh. Modi government in Gujarat has sent its entire police forces after a woman and tap her phone calls” said Rahul Gandhi in an direct attack on Modi.
“Just listen to the speeches of Modi and other BJP leaders. You will not see even a single word of appreciation about others. Their speeches are filled with anger and hatred. But please also hear the speeches of Congress leaders. We never abuse anyone. We talk with respect even about our enemies” he said further with a comment, ”Modi does not believe in people’s power. On the other hand Congress has faith in its people and their strength”. “Congress is going to form a government this time too after the elections. You will soon witness yet another tremendous growth” asserted the Congress leader.
“BJP and Punjab government blames Pakistan for the growing drug menace in the state. Pakistan may have some role. But what does the state government do? It also has a responsibility to fight this dangerous evil. Please allow Congress to form a government here. We will not run away from our responsibility by blaming Pakistan or America. If we get a chance to form a government in Punjab, the first thing we would do will be to fight this drug menace. We will eradicate this menace once we form a government here. Dahod: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi launched yet another scathing attack on BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.
While addressing a huge election rally at Dahod in Gujarat, the Congress leader lamented, “Modi talks loud of corruption but is not seeing the convicted ministers in his cabinet. Congress enacted RTI - a powerful weapon to fight corruption. Every citizen is legally entitled to gather any information about govt. Functioning. Lots of graft cases came out. But remember, there are no sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat under Modi. There is only one chowkeedar - Modi. There is no proper Lokayukta too. The day Gujarat has adequate RTI commissioners and proper Lokayukta, your chowkeedar (Modi) will be in jail”.
“Gujarat has developed in the past 60 years due to the hard works of its people. The diamond workers, textile workers as well as the women who contributed high for Amul’s establishment had a good role in state’s progress. But, now, here is new leader Modi ji, who claims credits for entire development in Gujarat as if the state was sleeping in the past 60 years. Now, he promises to develop entire country too, as if nothing had taken place in our country in the past 60 years!” further said Rahul Gandhi.
“He roams around the country and urges the people to make him a chowkeedar (watchman). He wants people to hand over the key of India to him. Remember, some chowkeedar loots too. Congress wants every Indian to become a watchman of the country” said the Congress Vice President amid huge cheers from the crowd..
“This election is a fight between two ideologies. On one side there is Congress party which believes in love, brother hood and unites people. It takes everyone along and aims at developing all. On the other side we have BJP which wants development of only a selected group. It wants progress for just 2-3 business persons. It wants farmers remain as farmers and workers to remain as mere workers” he said.
“We want people dream big. Over the past ten years we ensured that your money reached you back. Every year we allot Rs. 30000 cr for NREGA, to guarantee jobs to rural poor. It is your money, not of any business person. We ensure that every Indian avail its benefits, without any discrimination. For the first time, people started realising their rights. Similarly we gave people right to food by which every poor is assured with food” said the Congress leader.
“Just listen to Congress leader’s speeches. We never say ‘I ‘ but ‘we’. But Modi ji keeps on saying ‘mein, mein, mein...’ “I will do it, I will do that, I developed Gujarat, I will develop India..” Tomorrow he also may say that he will transform the entire globe and entire universe” mocked Rahul Gandhi.

He was right and even after his demise the people enjoy benefits of the works done by him” she said about late Prime Minister and creator of modern India, Rajiv Gandhi.

Do we need a politics that gives entire power to a single person or a politics that gives power to the people?” asked Priyanka Gandhi and underlined, “We want a politics that acknowledges the power of people. Congress respected the strength of people and gave you right to information, right to job, right to food and right to education. We want to further give right to health and shelter in the future. Sonia Gandhi in West Bengal: Only Congress can give a secular government

Raiganj (WB): “We need a government which will work for all and take everyone together, forward. We need a government which believes on secular values. Only Congress can provide such a govt” said Sonia Gandhi, the Congress President and UPA Chairperson, while addressing a party election rally at Raiganj in West Bengal.
“This is election time every political parties are busy in it. But there are some parties, especially the BJP, whose prime motive is to level baseless allegations against Congress. They are crossing every limit to mislead the people” said the Congress President and added, “In order to grab Prime Minister post they are creating a buzz throughout the country. It seems they don’t have any interest in social, political and economical issues. To give them authority to run the country is a question of worry”.
Taking on the present Trinamool Congress government in the state, Sonia Gandhi said, “UPA govt. at the Centre had sanctioned an AIMS hospital for this state but earlier Left Front and the present TMC govt. failed to provide the land for it till date”. “Every person works hard for his family and saves money for a better future. But Chit-fund companies with help of state govt. have looted more than 18 lakh families. You know very well about the worsening law and order conditions in the state” she continued.
“Only unemployed people can understand the value of jobs. We do understand this issue and therefore, enacted MNREGA scheme which guarantees minimum 100 days employment in rural areas and it also curbs migration. If West Bengal govt. implemented these schemes properly then your people could have secured a job here itself. But sadly, whether it’s Left or TMC, both have neglected such development schemes” lamented Sonia Gandhi.
About the future plans of the Congress the party President informed, “We need to do implement many such projects to transform the livelihood of the poor. We, in our Manifesto, have promised Right to health, Right to shelter for every poor. We also plan to design pension schemes for senior citizens and physically disabled people. We will be establishing 2000 dedicated women police stations throughout the country and we also will ensure that 25% of the police persons are women. We also intend to provide technical training to youth and give them employment. We also will support small industries too. We need your support to implement these schemes”.
Sonia Gandhi urged the people to support Congress and elect party candidates for development of the country and welfare of the people.

Priyanka Gandhi: Don’t vote for Sonia Gandhi but vote for the future of your children and country

Priyanka Gandhi in Raebareli hits back at opposition for baseless charges against her family

Raebareli: Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, daughter of Congress President Sonia Gandhi and sister of party vice-president Rahul Gandhi broke her silence on the allegations levelled by BJP against her husband.
“What is happening now? Whenever we switch on TV, we hear arrogant language and personal attacks. Many things are being said about my family, my husband. I feel sad the way humiliating things are being said. I keep telling my children that one day the truth will come out” said Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while speaking at Raebareli from where her mother Sonia Gandhi is seeking a fourth term in parliament.
“I am sad because the poll campaign, which should focus on people and development, is used for attacking us. Indira Ji had taught me, if you are sincere and honest from your heart, if your intentions are clear, then you do not have to be worried. This quality itself will act as a shield for us. The more they insult us, the stronger we emerge. The more they try to suppress us, the more we will rise. This is what I learnt from Indira Gandhi. So, the more I will be humiliated, more will be my determination to fight” further said Priyanka.
“I am not worried that they attack us. But I feel that elections must be fought with development as the main plank. It must be focussed on the requirements of the people. The agenda must be based on what we are going to do for the welfare of the people and development of our country. What are we going to for our youth, how we are going to take our country forward etc must be the main talking points in an election. But the opposition misleads people with baseless allegations against us. I feel sad for such misdeeds” she added.
“Our country is known for its rich culture, unity in diversity and peace. But these values are at danger at present. That is I want to appeal to you” warned Priyanka Gandhi and continued, “Don’t vote for Sonia Gandhi, but for a good future of your children and for your country. Vote for an India where everyone – Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, Christians, and Jain- live in harmony and love each other”. “Are we looking for a nation where people fight each other on caste and religion? Are we looking for a country where different castes and religions are being pitted against each other?” she asked.
“So, you vote for a good nation, for the future of your children and the youth here. Vote for those who will take our country forward by treating everyone equally” urged Priyanka Gandhi Vadra.
““I think there has been a political attack on my family and they have used my husband to make this attack, which has gone on for the past two years. I feel very strongly about it” she commented to the media while going back from the meeting.

Kishanganj: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi continues his blistering attack on BJP and Modi's 'Gujarat model' and hoped that the people have effective radars to find out the truth behind the 'toffee model'. Rahul Gandhi in Bihar: People have fine tuned radars to find out truths about claims of Modi

Kishanganj: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi continues his blistering attack on BJP and Modi’s ‘Gujarat model’ and hoped that the people have effective radars to find out the truth behind the ‘toffee model’.
“You must have heard about radars which are mainly used to track aeroplanes. Similarly the people, especially from Bihar, also possess fine tuned radars. It is highly technically effective so that truth can be easily found out” said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a huge Congress rally at Bihar’s Kishanganj as part of his ongoing Lok Sabha polls.
He once again slammed the much hyped ‘Gujarat model’ and said, “About 45000 acres of land, almost the size of Purnia, has been given for a mere Rs 300 crore to a single industrialist – Adani- by Modi govt. Today, a toffee costs Rs. 1 but Modi government gave lands at Rs. 1. This is the ‘toffee model’. Same is the case with the major coastal line in Gujarat. A loan of Rs 10,000 crore was given to Tata at 0.1% interest rate for the Nano project. But a poor farmer can get loan only at an interest rate of 12%, but Tata gets loan at 0.1% interest rate for 25 years!”
“Let us examine some more facts of this ‘toffee model’ of BJP and Modi. About 40 lakh people in Gujarat are under BPL. 40% of the people are not getting adequate drinking water facilities in Gujarat; one out of two kids starves” he added.
“This election is a battle of two ideologies; between love and hatred. Congress talks with love, encourages brotherhood. But on the other side BJP spreads hatred and promotes anger. It makes people fight each other. BJP’s friend Shiv Sena, beat up your people in Maharashtra. Just listen to BJP leaders’ speeches. You will hear not a single speech which doesn’t have anger. They never acknowledge the good works of others. BJP thinks that only one man in has the entire knowledge and rest knows nothing” explained Rahul Gandhi and continued, “For BJP, this coming election is not for India or its people. They are not bothered about the poor, farmers or women in our country. For them, this election is for just Modi. They are not bothered the people. They forgot the glorious contributions of the people of Gujarat for developing that state. Modi now claims that he is the only man behind the entire progress of Gujarat”.
“Congress wants welfare of entire people, especially the poor and downtrodden. We therefore initiated a right-based paradigm. But what ideology does BJP follow? Under its model, only one man has authority for entire decisions. He urges people to make him the chowkeedar of the country. BJP wants to make him a chowkeedar (watchman) to solve all the issues in our country; But Congress wants to make every citizen a chowkeedar of our nation” said the Congress Vice President.
“So, please open your radars to find out the truth. Vote for Congress and elect our candidates” concluded Rahul Gandhi.

This election is a battle between the ideologies of Gandhi Ji and Godse -- the battle between politics of love and politics of anger. One ideology (Congress') unites and the other (BJP's) is divisive. Remember, whenever these two ideologies fought, always the ideology of Gandhi ji and the Congress party won. Godse had killed Gandhi Ji because he could not challenge Gandhi ji's ideology, thought and love. It is due to this vision, our country developed,

Sonia Gandhi in Uttar Pradesh: Any ideology that spreads hatred is dangerous for the nation
Aonla: Congress President and UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi took on SP, BSP and BJP while addressing a party election rally at Aonla in Uttar Pradesh as part of her ongoing campaign for the Lok Sabha polls.
“I feel very sad to see that some parties are trying to damage the rich culture of unity and togetherness. They try to destroy our tradition of unity in diversity and spread hatred among people for their narrow political gains. They try to divide the people in terms of caste, religion and community. Their ultimate aim is to grab power and only people can teach them a lesson”, urged Sonia Gandhi.
“Congress always tried to take every people, every section, together without any discrimination. We always gave special focus for the welfare of the weak and downtrodden. We made several policies for their upliftment. This is the difference between the Congress and its opponents. This is the differences between the Congress which delivers and our rivals which just talk big” argued the Congress President.
Taking on the opposition, Sonia Gandhi said further, “You have witnessed the anti-people regime of SP and BSP. You also are well aware about the divisive BJP politics. These parties spread hatred among the people in terms of caste and religion and make people fight each other. They are a threat to secularism. We must understand that peace is necessary of development of the country and welfare of the people. Any ideology that divides people and spreads hatred and disharmony is dangerous for the nation and its people”.
“So you must think properly and take a wise decision before voting. The need of the hour is to bring in a secular government and only the Congress party can provide the same for you. I am confident that the people will never support a divisive ideology and will never elect people who are promoting such dangerous politics. I am also sure that you will support the ideology of the Congress party and will give your valuable support to us” she appealed to the people.
While explaining various achievements of the Congress-led UPA government at the centre, the Congress leader continued, “Today, there are lots of talks on corruption and our opponents, who themselves are most corrupt, level baseless allegations against us (Congress) on it. But they forget that it was the Congress party which implemented RTI – the most powerful weapon to fight graft. Every citizen can legally gather any information regarding government functioning. It is the Congress, which enacted Right to Education to ensure free education for all children upto 14 years of age. To fight poverty and malnutrition, we implemented Food Security scheme... For the benefits of our soldiers, we implemented one-ran-one-pension scheme. We also framed stringent laws to curb atrocities against women. All these policies by the UPA government are aimed at empowering our people and to make them self reliant”.
Sonia Gandhi urged the people to make a right choice and to elect Congress candidates in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi's first Hindi interview on Aaj Tak. He spoke on various issues concerning the congress party and the ongoing Lok Sabha polls.

Rahul Gandhi in UP: BJP has just one-point programme, to make one person the PM

Rahul Gandhi in UP: BJP has just one-point programme, to make one person the PM
Kanpur: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a mammoth election rally at Naubasta, Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh as part of his ongoing Lok Sabha polls campaign. “Congress designs its programmes after discussing with the people. We consider that the people have the knowledge and power. Our duty is just to come to you and seek your opinions. We respect people, their knowledge and strength”, said Rahul Gandhi.
“BJP also has come with its manifesto. What have they done? They just copied our manifesto and encrypted BJP symbol into it. As you know, we already have implemented one-rank-one-pension scheme for our soldiers across the country. But BJP manifesto offers the same but it does not understand that this programme already is in operation. Same is the case with industrial corridor project. BJP also copied our right to health proposal” lamented the Congress leader.
“Why does this happen?” Rahul Gandhi asked and continued, “BJP never bothered about people; it never goes to masses. BJP thinks that only one man in the whole world possesses entire knowledge. India (Gandhi) Ji had talked about a 20-point programme. But BJP has only a one-point agenda – to make one person the PM. There is no BJP, Advani ji or Jaswant Ji, only one individual (Modi)”.
“Our efforts are to empower the people – the poor, weak, women and downtrodden. On the other side BJP is divisive. Its friend – Shiv Sena, an NDA ally- threaten people from UP and Bihar in Maharashtra. BJP cadres beat up women in Karnataka” asserted the Congress Vice President.
Focussing on the proposals on women empowerment made in the Congress manifesto, Rahul Gandhi informed, “Our manifesto offers 2000 dedicated Mahila police stations across the country. We had implemented 50% women reservation in local bodies. But the women reservation bill which grants 33% reservation in Parliament and assemblies is still pending as the BJP has been blocking its passage. We will pass that bill too. We will ensure adequate women representation in Parliament as well as in the Congress party. We talk a lot about our country becoming a super power. But we can never achieve this till we empower our women properly”.
Slamming Gujarat model, the Congress leader quipped, “What is happening in Gujarat? The small industries in the state are shutting down. Same is the case with textile units. Just 2-3 business houses avail the entire benefits and people get nothing. The farmers, labourers, poor, all suffer”.
Lashing out at the double speak of BJP on graft, Rahul Gandhi said, “BJP talks a lot of corruption but its manifesto does not include any action plan to fight graft. BJP just talks, but does nothing. It was Congress which enacted RTI Act and Lokpal. There are no sufficient RTI commissioners in Gujarat and there is no proper Lokayukta too in the state” and added, “There are 5 more anti-corruption bills are still pending in the Parliament as the BJP opposes its passage”.
While concluding his address, the Congress leader struck a chord with the people and commented, “Kanpur was one called ‘Manchester of the East’. I want a day when Manchester would be called ‘Kanpur of the West’. This must be our focus and if we want to transform Kanpur, we must think about the state government also. Only a Congress government can serve you sincerely”.

Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi at Doda (Jammu), 11th April 2014

Rahul Gandhi: BJP thinks only Modi, not the people, knows everything
Doda: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a huge election rally at Doda in Jammu and Kashmir and took on BJP for its double-speak on women empowerment. He also targeted BJP’s prime ministerial candidate and Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi for his ‘late’ admission that he is married to Jashodaben, in the recent poll affidavit filed.
“Nowadays, I see BJP poster with the promise of women empowerment. They talk about women empowerment but its cadres beat up women in Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister had told me that one of BJP’s former ministers was charged with assault on women. BJP MLAs watch porn through mobiles at state Assembly. How the women of India could feel safe under BJP and Modi's so-called Gujarat model when in Gujarat, policemen are sent behind a woman, her phone was tapped by policemen. For the first time, only now, Modi admitted that he was married. Why did he hide it till now? Till date, he never had mentioned his wife’s name in any affidavit. We don't know how many elections he has fought, for the first time he has written that he is married. Still, BJP talks about women empowerment!” said Rahul Gandhi.
In another attack on Modi and BJP, the Congress leader lamented, “In Gujarat, hundreds of acres of lands were given to a particular businessman at throw-away prices. BJP sidelined Advani and accepted Adani. It ousted Jaswant Singh from the party”.
“For me India is a bouquet which contains various flowers. I treat every flower equally. For Congress all Indians are equal. We want to ensure that every citizen’s voice is heard in the system” reiterated Rahul Gandhi.
“We want to empower people more. That is why we talk about rights. But BJP makes people fight against another. They make people fight to suppress their voices. They want no one to question their actions. Congress runs governments for common man, the poor and downtrodden” explained the Congress Vice President.
Continuing his onslaught against BJP, Rahul Gandhi continued, “BJP leaders never try to understand the issues of the people. They are egoistic. They do not have any faith in people. I and my party believe that people have the knowledge and that is why we go to the people. We learn a lot from them. I believe politicians have to learn from the masses. They must go to them and interact with the masses” and added, “I am not at all worried about win and loss. I have just one thing – the love and affection of the people”.
“BJP wants to impose its ideology on others. They want Gujarat model to be replicated everywhere. It is not possible. Kashmir needs Kashmir Model. The only thing we must do is to empower the people. That is what Congress has been trying to do” he explained.
“We will win this time too. We will treat everyone equally and will take everyone together with us in our efforts for development. Our focus is benefit of entire people. We want to work with love and affection and take forward our country towards more progress”, Rahul Gandhi concluded.

Rahul Gandhi in Akbarpur (UP): BJP has just one agenda -- to make Modi the PM

Kanpur: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a mammoth election rally at Naubasta, Akbarpur in Uttar Pradesh as part of his ongoing Lok Sabha polls campaign. "Congress designs its programmes after discussing with the people. We consider that the people have the knowledge and power. Our duty is just to come to you and seek your opinions. We respect people, their knowledge and strength", said Rahul Gandhi. "BJP also has come with its manifesto. BJP also copied our right to health proposal" lamented the Congress leader.

Rahul Gandhi in Doda (Jammu & Kashmir) targets Modi for hiding his marital status earlier

Doda: Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi addressed a huge election rally at Doda in Jammu and Kashmir and took on BJP for its double-speak on women empowerment. "Nowadays, I see BJP poster with the promise of women empowerment. They talk about women empowerment but its cadres beat up women in Bangalore. Karnataka Chief Minister had told me that one of BJP's former ministers was charged with assault on women. Till date, he never had mentioned his wife's name in any affidavit. We don't know how many elections he has fought, for the first time he has written that he is married. Still, BJP talks about women empowerment!" said Rahul Gandhi.
