Priyanka Gandhi Vadra: Ranthambhore

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while campaigning for her brother Rahul Gandhi in Amethi for the Lok Sabha election said," Kya main aapko Budhi dikhti hoon”. She was replying to Narendra Modi who had called Congress party "Budhi”.
Priyanka Gandhi Vadra who is `Bhaiyaji' for Raebareli and Amethi has time and again proved that she is the Big brother. Defending the Congress party, campaigning for mother and brother, bringing in Mahila Yojana Raebareli Amethi(MYRA) and maintaining an equal warmth in her relationship with a foot soldier of congress and a senior leader.
Rajiv Gandhi loved photography. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra too has this passion.

`Ranthambhore' is a personal journey of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in the land of Tigers. Standing behind the lens, she has spoken.

And when 'Bhaiyaji' speaks whether for women self help groups or the tiger, it's bound to have an impact.

Indira Gandhi to be bestowed highest state honour by Bangladesh

The Bangladesh government has decided to confer “Bangladesh Swadhinata Sammanona” upon former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi posthumously for her outstanding contribution to the country's Liberation War in 1971. Indira Gandhi will be the first ever foreigner to be given the highest state honour of Bangladesh.
The decision to award the highest state honour was taken in the Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of Bangladesh
Bestowal of the highest state award on the former Indian Prime Minister is in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the country's war of liberation in 1971. Indira Gandhi had thrown the full weight of the Indian government behind the Bangladesh war.
It is recognized by that country that East Pakistan, as Bangladesh was then known, would have never secured freedom from Pakistan had the then Prime Minister of India not lent full support - by way of men and material - on humanitarian grounds. It was a bold step executed with perfect precision for which Indira Gandhi was well known.

Rahul Gandhi urges youth to get Uttar Pradesh rid of the Mayawati rule

After a trail blazing padyatra in Western UP earlier in the month which saw him win a million hearts. Rahul Gandhi is on a two day visit to Purvanchal with one simple message for the people. Get rif of Maya Raj from UP.

Having been extremely successful in mobilising the farmers, labourers and artisans of Western UP about their rights and against the land grabbing policy of the Mayawati government, the Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is now visiting Purvanchal to highlight the problems of the people there.
On the first leg of his two days visit to Purvanchal, he reached Gorakhpur on July 21. He called upon the youth to work hard to revive Congress in Uttar Pradesh and get the state rid of the alleged "misrule" of the Mayawati-led BSP government.
While addressing a meeting of the party's youth brigade at Syed Modi Railway Stadium, he urged the youth to come forward to educate the masses about the centre's "people-oriented policies and programmes". He asked the youth members of the party to expose the "anti-people and anti-farmer policies" of the state government. He added that one after another big scams were taking place in the state.
He targeted Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati for the irregularities in the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) and said that if a scam of this proportion would have happened in Delhi or Maharashtra then the government there would have fallen.

Both of them arrived at Saifee Hospital at 8.30 pm along with Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, and moved from floor to floor where victims of the serial blasts were being given treatment. Include our poor people in our development: Rahul Gandhi

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi while interacting with the media said “In Orissa the mining policy needs to be made transparent, because it robs huge number of poor people. Fundamentally believe that we have to include our poor people in our development and corruption most harms the poorest of the poor. It harms the tribals, it harms the poor farmers.
The response of the government as far as terrorism is concerned has been very very prompt. Mr Chidambaram is leading that effort and we are responding in quite a organised fashion. The monetary grant Orissa is getting today is unparallel. The centre is sending around 33 thousand crores. Today it's not the question of money because today centre has enough money. The real issue is it's implementation. We have sent MGNREGA which is the most dynamic and powerful programme. Our poorest of the poor gets benefitted. If you ask the poor which govt programme is best for them, they tell you it's MGNREGA. Why , because it puts money into their pocket. Yesterday I asked in the meeting in the tribal area about this scheme. They were not aware of it. The biggest employment programme of the world which is their national right but they don't know about it. General distribution of funds here in Orissa is ineffective here. We send the money which is supposed to be implemented by the state government, the implementation is not taking place.

Farmers demand for market value of their land is justified :Rahul Gandhi

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi during his interaction with farmers said,
My view and my government's view is that if one doesn't include the poor in the process of growth, that is injustice with the poor.
We will try to bring in a legislation which will benefit the farmers and the labourers.

For development and growth acquisition of land is necessary, where and in which manner the land is being acquired is most important.
Today what is happening in Uttar Pradesh is that land is being acquired in the name of development and growth and farmers are not getting proper compensation and that land is being transfered to the builders. If the land goes to the builders there is no development. India needs roads and if that road is built on your land a lot of people uses it and benefits. But if that land is given to a builder only one person gets benefited and this is the real issue of concern.

Rahul Gandhi sets on Padyatra in Greater Noida villages

The Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi is walking from village to villages in Greater Noida and in the adjoining area these days. He wants to understand the problems being faced by the farmers particularly of scale forcible acquisition of their lands by the state government. There have been again and again farmers’ agitations and violent clashes leading to farmers’ deaths.
The Congress leader is intrigued as to why farmers are agitated in UP while the acquisition of lands in Haryana is so smooth and peaceful. He is concerned in particular how come farmers in UP are poor in spite of compensation received by them for selling their lands to the state government.
Needs at least Flash Player Ver.9 to Play Download Here

Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to hold Kisan Maha Panchayat on July 9 in Aligarh to focus on all such problems. He wants to ensure that all issues concerning the farmers are brought forth and discussed in Kisan Maha Panchayat (Farmers’ Meet). So he has set out on three days programme to walk through villages of UP.
Today early morning he reached Bhatta village which was epicenter of violent clash on May 7 in which four persons were killed. He interacted with the villagers who explained their problems.
From Bhatta village he walked to Parsaul village which too had been scene of farmers’ agitation over non-payment of fair compensation for the forcible taking over of their lands by the Mayawati government.
Walking through villages of Usmanpur and Achepur, he reached Rustumpur village around 6.30 AM. Some villagers said while for other leaders bands and media precede, in the case of Rahul Gandhi, though he has studied in foreign country, he reached their villages alone and bare-foot; this would make villages rally around him for strong support.

Rahul Gandhi's Birthday Celebrations

Congress workers invoking the Gods at the party headquarters. Their single point agenda is to make Rahul Gandhi the Prime Minister of India. This is a sentiment

That perhaps echoes through the hearts of every Congressmen. Even as the Congress’ poster boy turns 41 today, comparisons between a young Rajiv Gandhi becoming PM and Rahul doing the same just don’t seem to stop.

Needs at least Flash Player Ver.9 to Play Download Here

The other burning issue for the aam Congress worker is as complex as the first. And that of course is when will Rahul Gandhi bite the other bullet. That of tying the knot and settling down into a married life. Little wonder that senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh says “I pray to the Lord that everyone may be able to see Rahul Gandhi as a groom this year.”

But so far Rahul has looked reluctant towards both the issues. His main focus still remains revamping the party’s frontal organizations the NSUI and the IYC. And the 41 year old Amethi MP doesn’t get tired of repeating what he feels from the heart.

Remembering great visionary Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi on his martyrdom day 21st May.

Bharat Ratna Rajiv Gandhi was the grandson of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India.
After the assassination of Indira Gandhi his mother in 1984 it came upon him to lead the country. He was the youngest Prime Minister of India when he took office at the age of 40.
Economic policy: He increased government support for science and technology and associated industries, and reduced import quotas, taxes and tariffs on technology-based industries, especially computers, airlines, defence and telecommunications. He introduced measures significantly reducing the Licence Raj, allowing businesses and individuals to purchase capital, consumer goods and import without bureaucratic restrictions. In 1986, he announced a National Policy of Education to modernize and expand higher education programs across India. He founded the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya System in 1986 which is a Central government based institution that concentrates on the upliftment of the rural section of the society providing them free residential education from 6th till 12 grade. His efforts created MTNL in 1986, and his public call offices, better known as PCOs, helped spread telephones in rural areas.
Foreign Policy: Rajiv Gandhi adopted pragmatic foreign policy. While still sticking for settled foreign policy he began looking in a direction significantly different from his mother's socialism. He improved bilateral relations with the United States — long strained owing to Indira's socialism and close friendship with the USSR— and expanded economic and scientific cooperation.
It was most unfortunate that while campaigning at a public meeting Lok Sabha Congress candidate at Sriperumbudur on 21 May 1991 a village 30miles from Chennai he was assassinated. The assassination was carried out by the LTTE. India lost a promising and prominent public figure. Gloom over took the country. It looked as if the country was disintegrating. However, the wisdom and good sense did not let the situation deteriorate and recovery to normalcy followed in due course.

Truly, the vision that late Rajiv Gandhi had for his country has fructified in many a ways; making India the leader in the world in software development and export as well. His vision was to narrow the ever widening gap between city and village, to strengthen the village community by making them aware of the required technology and equipment and to reinforce the lower rung but the most essential form of governance so that people can directly relate with the governance.
