Congress (I) has said Mayawati government has been so corrupt that it has not spared even drought hit area of Bundelkhand where people are dieing of hunger. In many places poor people have not been issued BPL cards. In other places where BPL cards have been issued Job Cards for guaranteed employment under NREGA have not been given to needy poor people. Congress (I) has said thus genuine needy people have been deprived of the benefit of NREGA scheme. In the name of high breed seeds contaminated and rotten seeds were purchased. So much so that out of NREGA funds money was spent for printing of calendars while for the last four years not a single day’s employment was made available to poor people in some areas of Bundelkhand. Congress (I) said NREGA scheme has been high jacked in UP and in its place Mayawati government has given a guarantee of corruption, unemployment, hunger and poverty to the people of Bundelkhand. Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi also had lashed out at Mayawati Govt. for the misuse of central funds. Rahul Gandhi while addressing various public meetings promised that a Congress Government will bring changes in Uttar Pradesh.
