Congress (I) has blamed Mayawati government for not making earnest efforts to take social welfare schemes to the genuine people who need them most. Every body knows that such social welfare schemes are benefiting only Mayawati government, its corrupt officials and BSP leaders who are manipulating the scheme to fill their own coffers. Congress (I) has said as result two lakh non applicants are getting the benefit the scheme while genuinely need people remain deprived of it. Similarly while another two lakh old age people have died their pension continues to be released. BSP leaders in league with middlemen and brokers are only getting benefits of the welfare scheme while genuine old people and widows are running from pillar to post without any hope or help. In Mainpuri district alone several hundred people between ages of 35-40 are getting benefit of old age pension, said Congress (I).
