Rahul Gandhi talks about the atrocities against the farmers under Maya rule

Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi explained the UPA Government’s pro poor policies during his five-day tour to Uttar Pradesh. He told how the thousands of crores of money sent under special packages for them have been misused. He also talked about the state government’s insensitiveness in Bhatta-Parsaul fiasco.
“We sent 6,000 crore rupees to wave the farmers’ debt. The whole of India was benefited, the farmers in UP said, they are not benefited.”
“From Gorakhpur to Noida 1000 km long, 2km wide strip of land is being snatched from the farmers. When they asked for the right amount against their land, they were shot dead in Bhatta-Parsaul. Who went to see? I went. When the government was asked, they said they were Naxals. We did '‘Padyatra’'. We fought and placed bill before the standing committee in Parliament. In closed doors the opposition is trying to stop the Bill. They cannot say it in the open. They can’t do it in the open.”
The young Congress MP from Amethi also spoke for the weavers. He said, “We helped the weavers. We talked to them. They said our condition is bad, come and see. We went. They said, “Rahulji, you are giving the package through society (committee), money will disappear. Why don’t you directly send money into our bank account?” We listened to it and we changed the package.”
