Launching a scathing attack against UP Chief Minister for throwing around promises of reservation for minority community in the state, Congress (I) has said Mayawati is trying to cover her misdeeds with such gimmicks. If she was really concerned with welfare of minority community where was she for the last five years? Mayawati is trying to fool the minority community by raising this issue only because of upcoming Assembly elections for the sake of getting their votes. If somebody has done anything for the minorities, Muslims and backward classes, it is only Congress (I) which appointed Sachhar Committee for recommending measures for socio-economic development of Muslims. The recommendations of the committee have been implemented in Congress (I) ruled states like Delhi and Maharashtra while Mayawati has not done this yet in UP, said Congress (I) adding that no election lollipops would work in favor of the BSP now because the people of the state are fed up with her non-governance and corruption.
