Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi said while talking at a big election rally in Sitapur (Uttar Pradesh) said that Congress is the only party which is concerned for aam aadmi. He also said that the Congress frames policies after interacting with the people. Rahul Gandhi while campaigning in Uttar Pradesh blamed that 22 years’ non-Congress rule destroyed the state of Uttar Pradesh and brought the state to the bottom of the table in the case of development.
“What did we (Congress) do? We came to you and asked about your problems. You had complained that there are no sufficient jobs available in the villages and so the people are forced to migrate to big cities for jobs. So the first thing Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre did was to implement MNREGA, the biggest employment guarantee scheme, to ensure jobs for all. By this biggest flagship programme every poor is assured of jobs if they intend to work. They are assured of 100 days of work at a daily wages of Rs 120 thus amounting to Rs 12,000 a year,” said Rahul Gandhi while talking about the Mahatma Gandhi NREGA policy of the Congress-led Government.
“Then we went to the farmers to know about their issues. They told us that the doors of the banks are closed for them and many of them are having the burden of huge debts. The Centre therefore took necessary measures to open the doors of the banks for the farmers and also framed a policy to waive off loan of the poor farmers worth Rs. 60000 crore” informed Rahul Gandhi.
