Rahul Gandhi exposes Mulayam’s hollow election promises

Taking on the SP Supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav on his home turf Mainpuri, Congress (I) General Secretary RahulGandhi has castigated him for throwing about all sorts of promises to the people only to garner their votes. “Mulayam is busy making tall promises, assuring free electricity, free water and has also gone to the extent of promising free treatment abroad to common people suffering from major ailments. But I wish to ask him whether he did any of these things during his three tenure as chief minister," said Rahul while addressing a public meeting in Mainpuri for the ongoing Assembly elections. During his regime the people got electricity bills but did not receive electricity, he added. He said the youth of the state was hard working, talented and capable of transforming UP but because of absence of employment opportunities within the state, they had to migrate to other states for their livelihood. Assuring the people particularly youth that his party would creates employment opportunities within the state, Rahul Gandhi said if Congress (I) is voted to power this time they would not have to leave their home state in search of jobs. He made a fervent appeal to them to favour his party this time for their own sake and development of the state. Congress (I) will not disappoint them, he said.
