Rahul Gandhi: People’s issue and development more important for Congress

Lashing out at non-Congress leaders like  Mayawati and Mulayam Singh Yadav for cheating the people over the last 22 years with false promises to grab power in the state, Congress (I) General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had said that people are no more interested in promises but want constructive actions. “The people need good governance and development as it is directly connected with their daily lives”, had said Rahul Gandhi while addressing a public meeting in Jaunpur as part of his campaign for Congress in the recently held assembly elections in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Speaking straight from his heart, the Congress MP from Amethi had said that he would not make promises like other non-Congress political parties. “When one has clear intentions, he needs not make promises,” added Rahul Gandhi.“I have not come here to make promises but to take UP on the path for change and I am sure that we will win this battle,” declared the Congress leader. Slamming BSP, SP as well as BJP for neglecting the state for "not doing anything to build the future of the state's youth, Rahul Gandhi said that Congress (I) is committed to the cause of UP’s development. Repeating that issues of the people and development of the state is more important for Congress (I) than the elections, Rahul Gandhi assured the people that Congress would change the face of the state.
